The fundamental workshop for any woman who wants to learn about posture and pelvic floor.
Pilates classes are very common amongst the female population in Ireland and one can see Pilates studios flourishing pretty much everywhere now.
Some of us recall our parents saying to us “put your back straight” or “mind your posture”. We all know that it is important to have good posture in sitting or standing position and we need to have "strong" pelvic floor. But what does that really mean? And how can we achieve it?
In this two hour workshop, you will be guided step-by-step on how to achieve optimum posture or what we call the Neutral posture and how to exercise the pelvic floor muscles safely. What you will gain from this workshop is a valuable tool that you can use for the rest of your life to improve your posture and reduce stiffness and general joint pain. It is a tool that you can start practicing immediately and the more you practice the better you will get and the easier it will be to obtain the right posture.
This workshop can be used as a standalone session or as part of our exclusive Physiolates Programmes for beginners, pregnant, postnatal or post-mastectomy women. No one can join the full Programme unless this fundamental workshop is taken as we use the neutral position throughout the Physiolates classes.
You will learn about the “hunchback”, the “sway back”, the “turtle neck”, the “duck butt” any many other posture imbalances that may be causing you pain and discomfort. Once you identify what type of posture you have you can start correcting it. Improving your posture will have an impact on your performance, not just in exercise and sports but in your everyday life.
